Ronnie has been carving since 1984. One day he was heading for the wood pile to get some wood for the fire place. As he was wandering along, he found a piece of wood that looked soft and workable, so he pulled out his pocket knife and started carving it. This started a long 19 year interest in woodcarving. Ronnie started teaching in 1986 as more and more people liked the pieces he was doing and wanted to learn his style. Ronnie has dropped the pocket knife for some of the finest tools on the market today. He seems to like carving with the larger tools.

Ronnie does the carving and Penny, his wife, does the computer work, scheduling, shipping and most of the painting.

Visitors :

Ronnie has won numerous awards and has been featured in Chip Chats and other carving periodicals. He won the "Best Whittler in Texas" award at the Texas Woodcarvers Guild show in Fredericksburg, Texas in 1997 and again this year, 2004,

In April of 2000, he won 2 First Place ribbons in Davenport, Iowa with Anna Canatuna and Snake River Sam. He has also won numerous Caricature Carvers of America awards.
